Nathan Hendry

Photographer/Manager

“I just love the process of making a picture” says Nathan Hendry.

As a Commercial Photographer for over 20 years, Nathan has produced work in many genres, including fashion, tabletop and travel. Currently his work  is primarily focused around Architectural, Interiors and Home Furnishings (although he can't help but stray into Lifestyle as well). Nathan invests the time upfront to understand the vision of those who designed the spaces and products to begin with, and is able to visually capture and portray this vision to a broader audience through his images.

Over time Nathan has  moved into Videography projects ranging from commercial, corporate and events (Dance Eisteddfod, School Concerts). A totally different approach to  still photography where he started his career, Hendry says collaborating with a team to produce quality footage is just as satisfying as working by himself.

Outside of the Photographic world, Nathan’s focus is on his family and enjoying an active lifestyle at home on the Northern Beaches (yes he does travel over the Spit bridge for work).
“A social life evolving around my wife and kids is what keeps my weekends occupied” says Nathan and he wouldn’t want it any other way.  Fortunately, the entire family is active, so getting out and about is not an issue.

Murray Cumming

Producer

Murray has been involved in Commercial Photography for most of his working life.

Originally responsible for building studios that were spacious enough to accommodate large interior photographic sets as well as provisioning them with enough equipment for multiple photographic teams, Murray spent his formative years shooting for many Australian and International clients.

Stepping back from behind the camera to grow the business, his current role as Producer on photographic projects is both detail-driven as well as cost-effective.

Every facet of production requires extensive pre-planning, budgeting and sourcing of elements for a photographic shoot to ensure a seamless result. On time and on budget (No one likes ‘extras’ at the end of the day).

Set design and set building, stylists and prop sourcing, talent searching and contracting, location scouting and licensing, catering and keeping everyone happy are all things that Murray deals with on a daily basis. His extensive network and experience of all things ‘photographic’ is the glue that holds everything together.

Living with his family in Inner City Sydney, his daily walk to work is reasonably short (less than minute if he doesn’t dawdle!)

Steve Brown

Photographer

Steve is a commercial photographer, cinematographer & filmmaker specialising in lifestyle, corporate, advertising and people.

Steve is able to draw from his extensive professional and personal experiences and his Papua New Guinea / Torres Strait Islander roots to deliver a style that is unique, energetic and colourful. With a genuine and personable character, Steve strongly believes that great creativity is often the result of a team effort and close collaboration with his clients. In his personal time, Steve loves to spend time with his wife and two young daughters, travel to remote and faraway places (having spent significant time trekking in PNG and living/volunteering in Kenya) and is a keen surfer.

Steve particularly enjoys collaborating with his peers on personal projects and his work with Flashpoint labs and its apprentice program — “I believe their enthusiasm and youth reminds me of the importance of carrying my camera with a sense of fun, curiosity & humility, which leads me to create exciting and unique images”.

Whilst Steve is based in Sydney with his family, he also travels domestically and internationally for work.

Sean Nelson

Studio Manager

A genuine team player, for over 15 years, Sean has found himself working in and around the photographic studio. Originally employed to help move equipment around and assist others, it was quickly realised that he was wasted as mere “arms and legs”.

Sean finds interpreting the vision of an art director or stylist and creating a set often beyond the original expectation to be one of the most rewarding tasks. Building and painting sets or putting together flat pack furniture is not beneath his capabilities and he is often referred to as “the flatpack champion of the world”

Outside of work, Sean is a Father of 2 young girls and enjoys sharing the natural world with his family.Whether this is working in the garden or out on bush walks, seeing the look of wonder in his girls eyes as they experience new things is one of his driving forces.
